Digital Wellbeing: Computer Speed

You may ask yourself: "How do I increase my computer speed?"

Well, there are several things you can do to increase the speed of your computer, I will list them here.

Get a Computer Tune-up

Usually the most effective way to speed a computer up is to do a tune-up on it.

Tune-ups typically are inexpensive to do, and often very fast compared to some of the other options on the table.

How does this happen?

There are a few options when it comes to computer Tune-ups:

  • Do it yourself

  • Have it done for you by a professional

Do it yourself:

If you are a super-user (a person very knowledgeable of computers and how to work on them) the do-it-yourself way is relatively safe, but still time consuming. You need to make sure you are not doing things that are going to harm your computer, and the frustration of being led down the wrong path by online resources is a very real frustration. If you refuse to pay to have it done (which is typically pretty cheap if you find the right vendor... me), then there are a lot of online resources you must sort through, and I say best of luck to you!

Have it done by a professional:

The least stressful way to have the Tune-up done is to have a professional who has done it many, many times before do it for you. This is where someone like me comes in. The process can be done remotely (I connect to your computer using the internet and work on it as if I was physically present) and does not require you to leave your home. I check the computer over, clean up the software, fix up the Operating system, Make sure everything is up to date, and verify that there is no malicious software on your computer.

If you would like assistance with a Tune-up feel free to contact me and set up some time to work on it:
